Transforming Military Leadership through Authenticity and Courage with Col Bree Fram

May 01, 2024

Join me on this episode in discussing the trials of vulnerability, authenticity, and the journey of inclusivity within the military. Today I have the honor of chatting with Col Bree Fram.

Bree Fram (she/her) is an author, podcaster, keynote speaker, and active duty colonel and astronautical engineer in the United States Space Force. She came out publicly as transgender on the day the transgender ban in the military was dropped in 2016 and is currently one of the highest ranking out transgender officers in the United States military.

Bree also co-leads the Department of the Air Force LGBTQ+ Initiatives Team, dedicated to eliminating barriers to LGBTQ+ military service in the Air and Space Force. Bree hosts the Forged in Fire: LGBTQ+ Leadership podcast and her newest book is Forging Queer Leaders: How the LGBTQIA+ Community Creates Impact from Adversity, which releases in May 2024.

In this episode, Col Fram sheds light on the essence of owning one's truth – even when that truth defies the norms of a historically conservative institution. We chat about the human side of leadership, exploring how vulnerability and connection can transform organizational culture and individual lives.

Col Fram is sharing some amazing stories and listeners will be taken on an emotional rollercoaster, from stories of survival to moments of profound acceptance and love that challenge the status quo.

Tune in an amazing episode that does more than just share a story; it ignites a conversation about change, challenges perceptions, and champions the cause of inclusion and the acknowledgment of every individual's worth and contribution.
