What if you've been asking yourself the wrong question?

Instead of asking, "What do I need to fix?" what if you started asking, "What's already right with me?"

For many women, that question feels surprisingly difficult to answer. We can quickly list our shortcomings, the skills we wish we had, or the ways we think we should be different. We become experts at spotting our flaws while overlooking the unique talents that have been there all along.

In this episode of Leading With Heart, Christina sits down with Gallup Certified CliftonStrengths Coach Tiffany Taylor to explore how shifting your focus from weaknesses to strengths can transform the way you lead, work, and care for yourself.

A Different Way to Measure Success

Many of us have spent years trying to improve our weaknesses. We're taught to close every gap, fix every flaw, and become more well-rounded.

While growth is important, constantly focusing on what's "wrong" with you can leave you feeling like you're never enough.

A strengths-based approach offers something different. It starts by recognizing the talents that come naturally to you and understanding how those gifts can be developed into strengths that positively impact every area of your life.

Rather than forcing yourself into environments that drain you, you begin creating a life that allows your strengths to flourish.

Self-Awareness Changes Everything

One of the most powerful parts of the conversation is the reminder that understanding your strengths isn't about putting yourself in a box. It's about gaining language for who you already are.

When you know how you're naturally wired, decisions become clearer. You begin to recognize the work that energizes you, the environments where you thrive, and the people who bring out your best.

That level of self-awareness also creates more compassion for yourself. Instead of comparing your gifts to someone else's, you begin appreciating the unique value you bring to your team, your family, and your community.

Stronger Relationships Start With Knowing Yourself

Strengths work doesn't stop with personal growth.

As Tiffany explains, understanding your own strengths gives you a new way to connect with other people. It creates a shared language for communication, teamwork, and leadership. Instead of expecting everyone to think and work the way you do, you begin appreciating the different strengths that others bring to the table.

This shift builds healthier teams, stronger friendships, and more meaningful conversations because you're learning to see what's right with the people around you, not only what's missing.

Your Strengths Support Your Well-Being

One of the most meaningful takeaways from this conversation is that your strengths can also shape the way you care for yourself.

Your time and energy are finite resources. Knowing your strengths helps you recognize where those resources are best invested and where you may need support from others. It gives you permission to stop trying to be everything to everyone and instead focus on the work that allows you to show up fully.

That isn't selfish. It's sustainable leadership.

Looking Through a Different Lens

Imagine if someone asked you to write down five things you genuinely love about yourself.

Would the list come easily?

For many women, it doesn't.

This episode is an invitation to change that. To begin looking at yourself through the lens of possibility instead of deficiency. To recognize that your strengths are not accidental—they are part of what makes you uniquely equipped to lead, connect, and make an impact.

When you stop defining yourself by everything you think you lack, you create space to become the leader you were always capable of being.
